Research Center for the History of Technology "Francesc Santponç i Roca" (CRHT - ETSEIB UPC)

The Research Center for the History of Technology (CRHT) is a research group created at the Barcelona School of Industrial Engineering (ETSEIB-UPC) in July 1996, whose history dates back to the creation of the organizing committee for the 125th anniversary of the School's foundation (1851-1976). Its objectives are:

  • To contribute to the "academic normalization" of the History of Science and Technology (HCT) at our university.
  • To promote and develop original research in the field of the History of Science and Technology.
  • To spread the knowledge acquired through the research activity to the ETSEIB, the UPC and the rest of the university and educational world.

To promote the conservation, recovery, reuse and study of our technical cultural heritage.
